Effective Strategies for Faculty/Staff

Faculty/Staff: If you are looking for resources, or are unsure of the process for connecting your students with additional assistance or support, check out these resources. The CARES Team process within the Dean of Students Office, designed to provide students with support, advocacy & resources, is outlined in this downloadable PowerPoint.
 
If you have concerns about your student(s), and would like to connect with the Dean of Students Office, you can do so by emailing us or by completing a form (many to choose from!) on our website.
 
In order to best serve our students, please be sure to include:
  • Student name
  • RUID
  • Description of your concern
We will be sure to follow up with you as soon as we reach out to the student (this process happens within 24-48 business hours). Our outreach is typically general, and checks in with the students to arrange some time to meet with them & discuss their concerns further. We may connect with you to gather more information when necessary.
 
 
Additionally, the images depicted here offer insight into the different levels of behavior that may prompt outreach to our office or other campus resources, like Rutgers University Police Department or the Student Wellness Center. We understand that these are unprecedented times, and want to provide you with as much information as possible, to ensure that we can continue to support our students as effectively as we can.
